17-year-old released on house arrest after court appearance
MASON, Ohio - A 17-year-old Mason High School student is facing 52 charges related to child pornography and pandering after detectives found pornographic images of minors in his possession, police and court records show.
The teen was arrested on 51 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor for alleged offenses in June 2025, according to Mason police and Warren County Juvenile Court records. Court records show the teen has denied the allegations, but the complaint says investigators found dozens of images of child pornography on his phone. Police searched the teen’s home and devices in November.The teen appeared in court and was released on bond with house arrest. As part of his bond conditions, he may travel to and from school with a parent and may attend track and field activities if transported by a parent. Court records also show he is not allowed unsupervised contact with minors or animals and must have no contact with the alleged victims. Mason City Schools have not commented on the investigation. The district sent parents an email warning about the dangers of technology misuse, including creating or sharing inappropriate, sexual, and harmful digital content. The district did not say the message was related to this case, and the email states the school cannot comment on specific situations.
