Mary Jessie Diaz was charged with murder in the death of her boyfriend, Christopher Jones, whose body was found nearly a month after he was shot.
A San Antonio woman whom authorities said killed her boyfriend and left his decaying body in their home for almost a month has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. Mary Jessie Diaz was 36 when she was arrested and charged with fatally shooting Christopher Jones , 58, on Jan. 25, 2020, at the home they shared in the 400 block of Susanwood on the East Side .
You just left him there,' Felix said, as Diaz faced her on a big screen behind Boyd. 'We lost a big part of our family. I hope you know what you caused.' San Antonio police conducted a welfare check Feb. 18, 2020, and when they entered the home, they encountered flies on the windows and discovered a strong odor. They then found Jones' decomposing body with a gunshot wound in his back, an affidavit supporting Diaz's arrest stated.
