Investigators say the suspect is believed to have been trying to shoot a dog that was attacking a woman but instead hit the dog’s owner.
LEESBURG, Fla. - After a two-day search, authorities in Florida arrested a man accused of killing a dog’s owner while trying to stop a dog attack . The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said 43-year-old Matthew Lee Pasco was arrested Sunday, the day after a warrant was issued charging him with premeditated first-degree murder.
Investigators say Pasco is believed to have been trying to shoot a dog that was attacking a woman Friday in Leesburg but instead hit the dog’s owner. Both Pasco and the dog’s owner were described by deputies as homeless. Deputies say 43-year-old Matthew Lee Pasco was arrested the day after a warrant was issued charging him with premeditated first-degree murder.The dog’s owner was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The woman who was attacked was hospitalized with dog bite injuries and is being treated.Pasco is being held without bond.
