WESTLAKE, Ohio - Westlake police used drones to locate a Lakewood man accusing of damaging his girlfriend’s car and threatening her and her sons Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Sonesta Suites after receiving a call from an employee about a couple arguing.
A press release from the police department said an employee witnessed the man breaking the woman’s car window and pointing a gun at her and her adult son. While the employee was calling dispatch, the man walked away from the parking lot before Westlake and Bay Village police arrived.The suspect did not cooperate with officers to come out, so pepper balls were deployed.The woman was discovered to have visible injuries from her argument with the man but she declined medical assistance. Police arrested the man and charged him with strangulation, domestic violence and damaging and menacing, including menacing the woman’s son with a firearm. The suspect has a history with domestic violence and prior felony charges that disqualify him from carrying a gun, so he was additionally charged with having a weapon under disability.Body found wrapped in blankets near Canton creek identified as 46-year-old woman
