ENTERPRISE, Ala. - The Association of the United States Army Fort Rucker-Wiregrass Chapter hosted its quarterly membership meeting in Enterprise. The guest speaker at the luncheon, Major General Clair A.
Gill, provided an update on the latest advancements in Army aviation, such as efforts to transition part of the aviation force to unmanned aerial systems or drones to be used in combat.Otis Smith, chapter president of AUSA, said the mission is to educate, inform and connect. “We do that by being involved with the leadership on Fort Rucker, being a part of a different program,” Smith said. “Just recently, we supported Volunteer of the Year. We supported the Best Squad competition. So we are out there seeking and helping soldiers and their family members.” The luncheon also commemorated America’s 250th anniversary, with Mayor William E.
