A 13-year-old boy died after being ejected from an electric motorcycle in Garden Grove, California. The boy was allegedly driving the motorcycle at high speed, causing him to lose control and crash into the center median.
Garden Grove police say the 13-year-old boy was riding 35 miles per hour on a motorbike when he ran into the center median and was ejected from the bike.

A family is in mourning after a 13-year-old boy died when he was ejected from the electric motorcycle he was driving on in Garden Grove earlier this week, according to the Garden Grove Police Department. The crash was reported just before 10 p.m. Thursday near the area of Magnolia Street and Larson Avenue.
Police said the boy was driving the electric motorcycle at about 35 mph when he crashed into the center median, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Paramedics arrived at the scene and took the boy to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries, law enforcement said.
“The bike was right here, the shoe was here and the kid was there gasping for air,” Avalos said. He added that the boy’s helmet strap appeared to be choking him, so Avalos removed it and tried to help the boy until first responders arrived.
“We knew the kid. He was always on his bike,” Avalos said.
“…He was always here with other bike riders, riding the bike and it was just going too fast. ” Garden Grove police said it’s unclear why the boy lost control of the electric motorcycle. The child’s name has not been released.
