Lorain County purchases a new truck and trailer for use by all county fire departments.
Lorain County Technical Resource Team Leader Tim Gates proudly shows off the new county technical rescue truck and trailer.AMHERST, Ohio -- Lorain County has a shiny new truck and trailer for its Technical Rescue Team.The team is a joint venture of the Lorain County Technical Rescue Advisory Board and the Lorain County Fire Chiefs Association to provide citizens with a team of highly trained firefighters to mitigate technical rescues in the area.
The team members work for various Lorain County fire departments and attend additional training sessions each month so that they will be prepared to respond quickly and effectively to any rescue situation. Currently, in the event that the Technical Rescue Team needs to be deployed, they have a pickup truck that pulls one of two trailers.
“Depending on the call, now we don’t have to choose. We can just immediately roll out, and when seconds count, that matters,” Gates said.
