NPR finds that the recent Supreme Court ruling reinterpreted the Voting Rights Act's Section 2 provisions in redistricting, which may lead to a larger decrease in Black representation in Congress. It also implies a more difficult road for challenging voting districts or systems with claims that they dilute the power of racial-minority voters. Many legal experts believe this may be a setback for the voting rights of racial minorities.
