State troopers say a 25‑year‑old LaGrange man was killed after his vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree in Lee County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency , Cashton X. Canady , 25, was critically injured when the car he was driving left the roadway and overturned before hitting a tree. Law enforcement reports the crash happened around 7:45 p.
m. Friday on Lee Road 379, about six miles north of Smiths Station. Canady was taken to Piedmont Columbus Region Midtown, where he died of his injuries on Sunday, troopers confirmed. State authorities said a 23-year-old passenger in the vehicle from Opelika was also transported to the hospital for injuries she sustained in the crash.
