CLEVELAND, Ohio - A large pothole that created hazardous driving conditions on Lansing Avenue for two months has been repaired following a The crater-sized hole had been surrounded by traffic cones, creating an obstacle course in a school zone.
The repair was completed within days of the original news report last month.For most of the fall, people living on Lansing Avenue said the unfinished roadwork made an already busy school zone even more chaotic.“Things get pretty hectic over here; there’s a lot of backup traffic due to the cones being in the way,” said Tyler Dyous back in October. “It just seems like an unfinished project, we started and we’ll get back to it whenever we can.” Another resident described conditions as “a little bit hectic, two and from school, even for people whose kids don’t go there.”An email first alerted 19 News to the problem on Lansing Avenue. The crater had been marked only with traffic cones for weeks, but after 19 News’ story on the problem at the start of October, people living on the street say the fix came in just days later. A woman living nearby, who asked to stay off camera, said conditions have improved significantly since the repair. “I’m glad you guys, you know, brought it to the city’s attention, and the city did what they had to do to get it repaired,” she said.
