China Mobile, Huawei, and Leju Robot unveil the first 5G-A humanoid robot, enabling precise positioning and real-time remote control.

Chinese firms have joined hands to introduce the world’s first humanoid robot powered by 5G-A technology. Developed by China Mobile, Huawei , and Leju Robot , the robot utilizes 5G-A for high-precision positioning in large spaces without extra equipment, overcoming indoor Wi-Fi limitations.

The robot was among a host of innovations showcased by Chinese firms at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2025 in Spain. The advancement enables real-time remote control, allowing the robot to perform complex tasks, according to a Chinese online outlet. Last week, China’s humanoid robot from Unitree turned into a Kung-fu master after a dazzling dance debut. Robots train in a virtual setting, learn human actions, and then transfer skills to real robots using Sim2Real technology.Smart robotics unleashedNamed Kuafu, the world’s first 5G-A-powered humanoid robot marks a key milestone in their collaboration under the GTI platform. The advanced 5G-A technology enables high-precision positioning in large environments without additional equipment, enhancing reliability in multi-machine collaboration and expanding industrial applications.Unlike traditional systems reliant on indoor Wi-Fi, 5G-A allows real-time remote control of humanoid robots, ensuring seamless execution of complex tasks. The technology also reduces hardware burdens, increasing computing speed while lowering costs. https://twitter.com/globaltimesnews/status/1893904895264293061According to ITHome, by leveraging high-bandwidth data collection, 5G-A supports deep learning model training, accelerating robot development and adapting to diverse industry needs.Originally showcased at the HDC 2024 , Kuafu integrates Huawei Cloud’s Pangu embodied intelligent large model. In-home settings, the robot has demonstrated capabilities in cooking, sweeping, and managing smart home devices. For instance, during an automated cooking task, Kuafa utilized the Pangu model’s embodied agent framework to understand its environment, process natural language commands, plan tasks, and execute them with dual-arm coordination.According to the firms, with its ability to generalize operations across different tasks, Kuafa exemplifies the potential of 5G-A-powered humanoid robotics. By advancing machine intelligence and real-world adaptability, this collaboration paves the way for broader applications in industrial automation, smart homes, and beyond.“With broader bandwidth, ultra-low latency, and a more intelligent network architecture, 5G-A provides a solid technological foundation for the multi-scenario applications of humanoid robots,” said Leju, as reported by Technode. China showcases innovationChinese technology companies showcased cutting-edge innovations at MWC Barcelona 2025, highlighting advancements in robotics, autonomous vehicles, and 5G. The four-day event, which concluded on Thursday, featured over 2,800 exhibitors, including more than 300 Chinese firms, reflecting their strong global presence and commitment to collaboration.Huawei also demonstrated its remote-control technology with a cockpit in Barcelona, operating an unmanned vehicle over 10,000 kilometers away at its Songshan Lake Campus in China’s Guangdong Province. The innovation, applicable to autonomous rescue vehicles and mining trucks, enhances operational safety, according to People’s Daily.Humanoid robots from Chinese tech company Unitree also impressed attendees. Under staff control, they performed tasks such as playing soccer, shaking hands, and precisely sitting down, earning applause from the audience.TCL introduced its latest AI-powered device, the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus Tablet. The company stated that the tablet integrates AI for enhanced functionality, including writing assistance for translation, drafting emails, and event planning, reports the Global Times.
