The Emmy winner caught up with PauseRewind’s entertainment reporter Courtney Tezeno at the Los Angeles Clippers & Comcast NBCUniversal’s NBA All-Star Legendary Tip-Off Celebration, where he reflected on his comedy roots, revealed his all-star TV dream team and addressed the question many fans still ask: Will he work with Jordan Peele again? “I would love to. I would love to,” Key, 54, said. “Right now, our journeys are just going in their own directions. Right now we're expressing ourselves that way, and I think that we'll find ourselves back together. When asked about the emotional roots of his humor, Key admitted he doesn’t spend much time dissecting it. “Sometimes you just flow and you don't examine that part of the pain,” he said. “I'm all for therapy but I don't really know comedy usually comes from awkwardness. It's when somebody opens up the way to do it.” One thing he does know is where the spark began. As for what’s next, Key shared that “in April, we have 'The Super Mario Galaxy' movie coming out, and I voiced Toad again, which was an absolute blast,” adding that he also has several projects currently in development.
