Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested a man wanted for aggravated murder Friday morning.
CLEVELAND , Ohio - Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a man wanted for aggravated murder Friday morning. According to U.S. Marshals, 30-year-old Regis Hill was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for a murder that occurred back in 2021.
On July 5, 2021, 39-year-old Santino Deshawn Wilson was murdered in the area of E 75th Street and the 7500 block of Kinsman Avenue. When the altercation turned violent, at least one person fired a gun multiple times.PREVIOUS: Mayfield Heights man shot, killed on Cleveland’s East Side NOVFTF said in February 2026, Cleveland Police named Hill as the suspect in the murder, and the case was turned over to the U.S. Marshals last month. Members of NOVFTF were able to locate a car Hill was known to drive on Friday in the 19400 block of Kewanee Avenue in Cleveland. Officers called out to Hill to open the door, but even after seeing Hill move around in the home, he refused to answer the door. The NOVFTF said members breached the door and safely took Hill into custody without further incident. Family members and friends held a vigil for Wilson back in 2021 at the spot where he was gunned down. His childhood friend Johnny Grimes told 19 News it was devastating to get the call that Wilson had been killed. “He was a king, nothing but positive every time you saw him, nothing but positive. He was a photographer, took pictures, wouldn’t charge you an arm and a leg if he loved you and knew you that’s how he was,” said Grimes. This type of careless violence has no place in our communities. We will hold those who commit these terrible crimes and who take the victims from their families accountable. The Cleveland Police and the U.S. Marshals Service will not give up on cases such as this, solving them and finding those responsible.Inmate dies after suicide attempt at the Summit County JailIllegal SNAP usage lands Cleveland business owner behind barsCleveland Metropolitan School District to cut 260+ teachers, staff next school yearUS and Iran prepare for high-level talks as Israel and Hezbollah trade more fire
