JACKSON COUNTY , Fla. - Jackson County Schools announced it will be closed Friday to allow for a thorough cleaning of the campuses and buses.
In its announcement, the school district says this is part of an effort to reduce the spread of illness.
School officials ask parents to keep their children home if anyone in the household is experiencing symptoms of illness, including nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or diarrhea.
School officials added that students and staff should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school or work.
