EATON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Eaton Township Fire and Rescue responded to a basement fire call while on scene assisting with a Columbia Township car accident Saturday morning.
Eaton crews assisted the Columbia Township Fire Department with a car accident on Royalton Road at 11:59 a.m.When they arrived at the fire, it had advanced to the basement, according to the department, and extended into the first floor of the residential building. The department had the fire under control within 20 minutes. While working on the Kara Court fire, crews were dispatched to Copart on Royalton Road for a possible structure fire, the department said.
Eaton Township Fire crews received assistance from Carlise Township Fire, Elyria Fire, Grafton Township Fire, North Ridgeville Fire, Lifecare EMS and the Lorain County Fire Investigation Unit. Crews said the cause of the Kara Court fire remains under investigation, and they did not release a loss value.
