DESTIN, Fla. -A man has been sentenced to life in prison and designated a sexual predator following the sexual abuse of a child. Justin Andrew Busby was sentenced Tuesday by a judge after a jury found him guilty of sexual battery of a child under the age of 12.
Busby was over 18 at the time. Prosecutors say the abuse happened during a family vacation in Destin between late 2022 and early 2023. The victim, who was just 10 years old, later disclosed the abuse to her parents after returning home to Mississippi. Investigators say Busby was a trusted family member. While he minimized his actions, he did not deny the allegations.
