In the state semifinal game against Cibolo Steele, Sanchez scored two goals in the Eagles 4-1 victory, helping them get to the state finals for the first time in school history. Julian’s teammates and Head Coach Jed Garner say he’s the reason they’re in the position they’re in to content for a state title. “On a team full of extremely hard workers, he is the hardest worker,” said Coach Garner.Nick Mantas is an award-winning sports reporter who joined the KPRC 2 Sports Team in September of 2025, coming from channel 2's sister station, KSAT in San Antonio.
