Gwyneth Paltrow made a public appearance in New York City wearing a stormy gray skirt suit from the Armani/Archivio 2026 line, inspired by the 1983 collection and paired with Jude pumps.
Some looks truly are timeless—like the gray suit, for instance. From Julia Roberts’s iconic 1990 Golden Globes fit to more-recent ensembles from Ayo Edebiri, Princess Catherine, and more, the gray suit has become a fool-proof uniform—which is why Gwyneth Paltrow knew she couldn’t go wrong when she turned to one earlier this week.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Marty Supreme star made a rare public outing in New York City, where she was seen wearing a stormy skirt suit that paid tribute to a bit of fashion history. As it turns out, this look was inspired by a set from the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 1983 collection and was pulled from the new Armani/Archivio 2026 line.
The Archivio project is an endeavor to not only create a rich documentation of Mr. Armani’s archives, but also to revitalize them. Last month, it was revealed that 13 men’s and women’s looks from 1979 to 1994 have been reproduced through a new limited-edition collection, including the outfit that Paltrow wore yesterday. Her monochromatic ensemble consisted of a dark-gray cargo top with large buttons, flap pockets in front, and a fitted bottom hem that hugged Paltrow’s waist.
Styled just like it was in the collection, the Oscar winner paired her shirt with a soft-gray pencil skirt with a subtle plaid, while layering it over a checkered top for another pop of pattern. To complete her look, the Goop founder slipped into a pair of pointy pumps from the hottest footwear maker of the moment: Jude.
Founded by Jurgita Dileviciute and Denitsa Bumbarova in 2024, the Paris-based brand has become the preferred provider of freaky footwear for fashion lovers and celebrities alike . Clearly, Paltrow has hopped on board the Jude train too. Paltrow’s look was the perfect mix of a vintage-inspired set and an accessory that’s completely of-the-moment.
