One man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and a puppy is dead following a fight, according to the Biloxi Police.
BILOXI, Miss. — One man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and a puppy is dead after a series of fights in Biloxi, according to police. Officers said the incident began around 11:20 p.m.
Friday in the 1700 block of Beach Boulevard, where two men were involved in a fight. Officers said by the time they arrived, both had already left the property, one drove away in a vehicle, and the other left on foot. Police later determined that during that initial fight, the victim and Matthew Bolton had gone down a flight of stairs. Police said Bolton had the victim pinned to the ground and was punching him in the abdomen, and threw him face-first into a wall before the fight was broken up. According to officials, the dispute stemmed from derogatory comments made toward someone who was with Bolton and Austin Delano. Authorities said the fight continued later at a home on Floyd Drive, where Bolton and Delano allegedly assaulted the victim again. Police said Delano held the victim in a chokehold while Bolton hit and kicked him. During the fight, according to authorities, the victim allegedly intentionally crushed a two-and-a-half-week-old husky puppy. Police said the suspects then continued to assault the victim. Police said the victim was eventually able to escape and seek help, knocking on the door of a home on Jim Money Road around 12:51 a.m. Saturday. Officers said he was covered in blood and was complaining of severe abdominal pain. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers later confirmed the puppy died at the scene on Floyd Drive.Bolton and Delano are charged with aggravated assault.
