) - The city of Montgomery announced Friday that Chief of Staff Jerime Reid has resigned from his position. Reid joined the City in March 2023 as Chief Operating Officer before being appointed to Chief of Staff in October 2024.
He played a key role in advancing several organizational priorities and operational improvements across City departments, a statement from the city said. “Jerime brought strong leadership and focus to our team during a time of significant growth and change,” said Mayor Steven L. Reed. “We thank him for his service to the people of Montgomery and wish him continued success in the future.” Reid previously served in the Air Force as Director of Personnel at Air Mobility Command inside Scott Air Force Base and Director of Operations for HQ Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He graduated from the Air War College, the University of Texas, and Air Command and Staff College. He earned a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. “Reid’s leadership and insight made a positive difference in the City. We will continue to build on the progress achieved during his tenure,” the City’s statement added.The City is expected to make an announcement about an interim leadership position and the transition process in the coming days.
