A man who drove his vehicle along a sidewalk and onto a grassy area near the U.S. Capitol Building Thursday morning was arrested for reckless driving . Capitol Police officers saw the vehicle near Peace Circle at around 10 a.m. when it entered the grass near Third Street, Northwest, and Constitution Avenue, not far from the U.S. Capitol Building. Dozens of officers, many visibly armed, responded to the scene, and a man was taken into custody shortly after.

A bomb squad inspected the car and found no threat but kept several roads closed due to an investigation.
