U.S. citizens in Iran should leave immediately,” the State Department said.The department said it has contacted nearly 3,000 Americans seeking to leave and is facilitating flights from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.“The Iranian regime has publicly stated its intention to target locations in the UAE associated with the United States,” according to the UAE travel advisory. Major airlines including Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, United and Delta have suspended most flights to Middle East destinations. The Federal Aviation Administration issued an advisory Notice to Air Missions recommending caution for U.S. air carriers and commercial operators in the Middle East. The State Department is urging Americans in the region to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program to receive updates from U.S. embassies.
