Medical staff and Corrections Deputies attempted life-saving measures and contacted Enterprise Rescue.
NEW BROCKTON , Ala. - Eric Nathaniel Hicks, 37, was pronounced dead at the Coffee County Jail on Friday.
Hicks was found unresponsive on his bunk in his cell Friday morning, according to Coffee County Sheriff Scott Byrd. Rescue personnel continued to attempt to revive Hicks; however, those attempts were unsuccessful. He was pronounced deceased. Byrd requested the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency conduct an investigation of the “incident,” according to a release from the Sheriff’s Department.
Mr. Hicks was a resident of Enterprise, Alabama. He was brought into the Coffee County Jail on June 16, 2024. He was placed in jail for warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Probation Violation, and Failure to Appear.and receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
