The winners of the Indie Cup Europe ‘24 awards have finally been revealed, showcasing the best upcoming projects by independent studios and solo devs across the continent–with plenty of great-looking games sharing the spoils after a hard-fought four-month voting process.

It’s been in development for a while, but there’s no release window just yet–but one to add to your wishlist.feels very special–Czech studio Amanita Design has created one of the most visually unique experiences of the last five years. This tale, in which you “stand up against The Leader’s oppressive rule,” has a gorgeous art direction, plus tons of great puzzle ideas and mechanics.doesn’t have a planned release date, but it deserves all the time it needs to hit the heights it clearly can. For what it’s worth, it also went up against a stacked field; other personal favorites include madcap sandbox adventure, the brainchild of German duo Sven Ahlgrimm and Mathilde Hoffmann, is one of the most creative, beautiful, and relaxing games to grace 2024, never mind the Indie Cup. Even better,Brave At Night’s sideways take on the kingdom management RPG genre looks great, and there’s every reason to think this’ll offer a nice alternative to a popular formula. It’s planned for Q1 2025–not too long to wait.’ second award of the night was by far the most deserved of the two–nothing looks or plays quite like it.Juggler Games’ weird, time-bending, turn-based roguelite RPG is strange, to say the least–but it’s different in all the right ways. In it, you “serve the ancient Protector Tree” and slay huge enemies to harvest their essence.understandably stood out from the crowd. This isometric narrative RPG sees you in the role of a teenager stuck inside an occupied city, and you learn survival skills, build relationships, and make difficult choices every day, responding to tragedies along the way., from Unreliable Narrators, puts you slap bang in the middle of the 17th-century Canadian wilderness as Jeanne, a French woman who crossed the Atlantic for a new life, and Maikan, an Innu hunter hoping to uncover what’s causing problems in the forest.
