A 42-year-old man died after he was struck by a van late last month near Tudor Road and East 40th Avenue, Anchorage police announced Monday.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A 42-year-old man died after he was struck by a van late last month on a midtown street, Anchorage police announced Monday. Nicholas Smith was hit around 10:46 a.m. March 28 on the Old Seward Highway between Tudor Road and East 40th Avenue, according to APD.
He was taken to a nearby hospital. Police said they were made aware on April 3 that Smith had died at the hospital from injuries suffered in the collision. A preliminary investigation found that Smith was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a Chevrolet Express van, police said. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
