One Lawrence County woman, Mercedes Bolden, is sharing her story after her newborn made an early entrance into the world.
Bolden was just feet away from a pregnancy center when she gave birth.Bolden and her husband drove to the Alabama Birth Center in Huntsville , but her son decided to make an early appearance! “As soon as I got there, I had to get on the ground because he was coming out of there,” said Bolden.
Bolden had no time to rush inside.Bolden had to lie down on the ground and give birth with the help of nurses right on the sidewalk. Bolden said that as she was giving birth to her son, she was worried that other people could see her giving birth. She only had to push twice, and her son Ivan William Bolden was born. “It went by really, really quickly, so I didn’t have time to freak out about the pain or anything,” said Bolden.“As soon as he came out, I was just laughing hysterically because I’m like, no way,” said Bolden. “I had to FaceTime my mom. I was lying on the ground, and she was like, ‘What’s happened?’ Normally, when somebody is lying on the ground, it is because they fell and got hurt, and she thought I had fallen or something. So, I put the phone to him. And then my sister and her started busting out laughing.”Ironically, she said that even though she had to give birth on the sidewalk, this was the easiest birth that she had experienced.Montgomery teen faces long road ahead after being hit by carTelevangelist Jimmy Swaggart, whose ministry was toppled by prostitution scandals, dies at 90Families approved for CHOOSE Act now have access to Alabama’s newest school choice funds
