A 6-year-old child diagnosed with high-functioning autism is considered missing and endangered, according to the St. George Police Department. The body of a missing 26-year-old was recovered at Grand Canyon National Park earlier this week. A Riverton small-business owner said a woman was caught on surveillance video allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise from her store. Grantsville police have confirmed that the officer recorded on a call with a former West Valley police officer in Eugene, Oregon, is employed with the Grantsville Police Department.

Officials said Matteo Thomas was last seen with his mother, Mersadee Jacobs, a 34-year-old woman, leaving the area of 800 South 400 East in St. George.

“While this case does not rise to the level of an Amber Alert, finding this mother and son as soon as possible is crucial. If you see them, please call police immediately and reference the incident,” the department said. The body of a missing 26-year-old was recovered at Grand Canyon National Park earlier this week. Sandarsh Krishna, 26, was first reported missing on April 28.
