What’s a parade without marching bands? Or A Night in Old San Antonio without the Chicken Dance in Sauerkraut Bend ? Music is vital to many Fiesta events. Here’s a sampling of where you can go to rock out, two-step or just enjoy the bands while munching on chicken on a stick.

Fiesta De Los Reyes: This Market Square blowout features top Tejano acts, including Latin Breed and Elida y Avante, on the Gateway Stage, plus a wide variety of other acts on four more stages over its 10-day run. Tuesday is a throwback night with Spazmatics and the Journey tribute band Eclipse. 10 a.m.-midnight Friday through April 28, Market Square, 514 W. Commerce St. Free, fiestadelosreyes.com. Fiesta Oyster Bake: Collective Soul, the Georgia rock band known for ’90s hits such as “Shine” and “The World I Know,” is one of the big names at Fiesta’s biggest music bash. Other headliners include Ratt singer Stephen Pearcy, Texas music star Kevin Fowler and Tejano singer Gary Hobbs. A Night in Old San Antonio: NIOSA’s neighborhoods are as identifiable by the music playing in the area as by the food being served. Battle of the Flowers Band Festival: If halftime is your favorite part of high school football games, this is the Fiesta event for you. More than 30 area high school bands, including UIL contest winners, will take part; the finale features about 4,000 musicians performing.
