The Goshen Canyon Wildfire was first reported just after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21. By 7:30 p.m., Utah fire officials reported the flames had spread to an estimated 75 to 100 acres. By 10 p.m., that estimate grew to 400. Officials said high winds fueled the flames, and the difficult mountainous terrain made firefighting efforts challenging.
However, as the fire came up against some rocky terrain between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., it mellowed out and slowed. As of the latest update, the Goshen Canyon Fire still remains 0% contains, but firefighting crews have the flames surrounded on all sides. That evacuation order was lifted around 10:30 p.m. after successful firefighting efforts.
