State champion track and field teammates Taylor Nunez and Sophia Bendet signed with Texas A&M on Signing Day. Wednesday was the first day of the early period.
Donned in cowboy boots and hats, Randolph ’s Taylor Nunez and Sophia Bendet — two of most accomplished high school athletes in city history — dressed the part Wednesday as they signed scholarship agreements to compete for Texas A&M’s track and field program. “I love Taylor, and I’m so excited to continue my athletic goals with her,” Bendet told a gym full of well-wishers. “We’re excited for the next chapter.
