DOTHAN , Ala. - The clock towards the new season for the Dothan United Soccer Club is ticking on, and the team to get ready for their 2026 campaign are gearing up for a special exhibition battle with a team representing the Home of Army Aviation.
The Dragons announced Monday that they will host a friendly match on Saturday, May 9, at Rip Hewes Stadium in Dothan when they take on the Fort Rucker Football Club. “We have had a tremendous relationship with Fort Rucker since our founding,” DUSC General Manager Aaron McCreight said in a statement announcing the matchup. “This is an incredible opportunity for our players, coaches and, most importantly, our fans.” “Fort Rucker and the Wiregrass community share a bond that goes back decades, and there is no better way to celebrate that connection than through the spirit of competition,” said Col. Clint Cody, Chief of Staff for the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Rucker. “This exhibition match against is a fantastic opportunity for our Soldiers, families and veterans to engage with our neighbors in Dothan.” The Dragons will use this exhibition clash as a way to provide a special “thank you” to those who have or currently serve, with all ID-holding active and retired military or those that are DOW cardholders receiving a free Family Four Pack to attend the matchup “This isn’t just about the final score; it’s about fostering relationships that make this region such a special place to live and serve,” Col.
