ANCHORAGE , Alaska - Alaska Airlines will increase checked baggage fees for North America n flights on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines tickets booked starting Friday, citing continued volatility in fuel prices and uncertainty in the global environment.
Under the change, the fee for a first checked bag will rise by $5, while the fee for a second checked bag will increase by $10, according to the airline. The fee for a third checked bag will rise by $50.The airline said baggage benefits will remain the same for Atmos Rewards status members and eligible holders of an Atmos Rewards Visa or Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard. Alaska also said there will be no changes to its Huaka‘i or Club 49 programs. Huaka‘i benefits will continue for travel within Hawaii, and Club 49 benefits for Alaska residents will remain in place for travel to, from and within the state.
