On April 10, deputies responded to a call about a domestic disturbance with a weapon at a residence in Palm Coast.
According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, reports stated Cichowski, 46, hit one victim with a cane and threw a cellphone at the other victim. He was allegedly armed with a gun.
One of the victims, who called 911, also said that Cichowski threatened to kill them multiple times and stated that he would kill law enforcement if they were called.
The two victims were found by deputies when they arrived at the residence. According to FCSO, they were hiding in a bedroom, and one of the victims could not leave the home because they were bedridden.
Deputies were able to escort the victims out of the home through the lanai. The deputies then made contact with Cichowski.
Cichowski was taken into custody and arrested after surrendering to deputies. He is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a person over 65 and robbery. According to FCSO, Cichowski was placed into protective custody under the Baker Act after making suicidal statements while being transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
FCSO said Cichowski was arrested in 2024 for domestic battery, domestic battery by strangulation and false imprisonment.
Cichowski is a candidate in the 2026 race for Florida governor, and he previously ran for Palm Coast mayor in 2021.
