CLEVELAND, Ohio - In July 2025, a fire station on St. Clair Avenue in the Glenville community was stripped down to the bare studs, but this month, the station finally reopened with major renovations. Fire Station No.

30 has been renovated and updated to provide a safe and warm place for Cleveland fighters living and working there.“Oh, it’s fabulous. I think they hit the nail on the head as far as updating it, cleaning it,” Kwan said. “The air-ducts alone that was probably one of the biggest issues our guys had.”“I remember when Michael Simon, the Iron Chef, was just Mike a cook, another one of the cooks,” he said. “Part of the gang that we all use to roll with.” Now, when they come in for work, they can do so knowing their fire station is up to code and their standards because it was renovated from top to bottom.“We replaced rooftop units here. We redid the air-conditioning. We cleaned all the ducts that hadn’t been conditioned in years,” Larson said. “We did is put new lighting in here. We had our city painters come in and touch up a lot of the areas that we redid.”“Also, we’re creating that zone of hot, a green zone and a yellow zone. So, they can decontaminate and go into the living areas,” he said. The inside of whole building was renovated to include quarters for firefighters and EMS for both men and women.“So, we want to make sure it’s safe, it’s clean, it’s warm, it’s cool and to make sure they have all the things that they need. This is their home away from home,” Drummond said. Now that Fire Station 30 has been redone, the city is continuing to fix up other fire stations, and there are plans to build a few of more.Preliminary autopsy results revealed for American college student found dead in water in Spain15-year-old killed in North Avondale was considered a missing child, police sayUniversity of Toledo researchers seek volunteers for Lake Erie air quality study
