Financial planner Jim Crider explained if you want to save, account for what you’re actually saving for. Starting off April, Texas nearly tops the list of most expensive states to buy a policy in.
So far, in 2024, Texas is already facing a staggering price tag in the billions because of natural disasters, like the panhandle fires.If you're wondering how San Antonio compares, Nerdwallet said the average homeowner is paying nearly $3,600 for home insurance.“I pulled our new policy, which was actually April 1, this year, it went a little over $500 for the year, which was kind of a shocker,” Realtor and Homeowner Lynn Kirkman said.
“I think you'll see inflation coming down some in the next two or three months. And that will help the situation to some extent that at some point later in the year, the Federal Reserve be lowering interest rates, that will also help a lot of people in dealing with budgetary issues,” Economist Ray Perryman said.
