She further criticized the property as 'too modern,' expressing a preference for 'cool, quirky' spaces over spacious ones. Phil showed her a three-bed Grade II listed cottage valued between £525,000 and £600,000, which featured a cozy front room, an extensive kitchen, and a walled courtyard. Jane, however, complained about the extra bedroom she didn't need and the potential maintenance costs, stating she would only consider it if it were £50,000 cheaper and had two bedrooms instead of three.

As a last resort, Phil showed Jane a new-build ground-floor flat priced at £325,000.
