FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A false report of shots fired at a Fairbanks middle school is to blame for a police response Thursday, police say. The response to Randy Smith Middle School around 2:15 p.m. was the result of a report of gunfire near the school, according to the Fairbanks Police Department and Alaska State Troopers.
