FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Police Department is investigating the death of a 39-year-old man whose body was found early Tuesday outside a convenience store, and officers are asking two people seen near him before authorities arrived to come forward.
Fairbanks police said officers were called at about 1:23 a.m. Tuesday to the Circle K at 575 Harold Bentley Drive after a report of a death outside the store. Witnesses told investigators they saw a man and a woman near the deceased man. According to police, the pair told store employees they had been trying to wake him up, then left before emergency medical responders and officers arrived.
Investigators said Ludvick did not appear to have any obvious injuries at the scene, and the department is awaiting autopsy results.
