Yamaha Racing has undergone a significant shift in its testing strategy, with a focus on rapid development and data acquisition. This approach, highlighted by the team's aggressive use of the concession system, has been praised by champion rider Fabio Quartararo, who considers it a key factor in the team's renewed optimism.
Yamaha is making improvements, particularly in its approach to testing new parts. The 2021 champion has noticed a significant shift in the team’s mentality and attitude, expressing optimism about a brighter future with the Japanese manufacturer. Gaining full advantage of the concession system, Yamaha has adopted an aggressive testing approach this year, as seen on the bikes of Alex Rins and Quartararo.
Though the new parts haven't made a significant difference, Yamaha has gained insight into the direction it should adopt for the future.
