Former congressional candidate Brandon Herrera and his band of local gun influencers finally got tech mogul Elon Musk ’s attention. It happened Thursday after Herrera posted a video of a Tesla Cybertruck outfitted with a .50-caliber machine gun in the bed. The olive drab Cybertruck is shown cruising dirt roads and doing donuts at the Desperado Shooting Range in Boerne . At one point, Herrera stands in the back and fires the big gun into a berm.

He tests weapons, recreates historic shootings and critiques others’ mistakes with guns on his channel, which has more than 3.6 million subscribers. The videos are edgy, profane and funny. He’s received criticism for some. Herrera ran on a MAGA platform against Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales for the District 23 congressional seat.
