Evergreen Police Arrest Two on Drug Charges, Seize Narcotics and Firearm

Joe Nathan Rankins and Candace Patrice Crosby were arrested in Evergreen, Alabama, following a narcotics investigation. Rankins faces multiple drug-related charges including trafficking cocaine and possession of various controlled substances, while Crosby is charged with chemical endangerment of a child. Police seized significant quantities of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun during the operation.

Joe Nathan Rankins, 40, and Candace Patrice Crosby, 37, were taken into custody on April 2 following an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to the Evergreen Police Department. Police said Rankins faces 11 charges, including trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana first degree, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of controlled substances including methamphetamine and fentanyl, unlawful possession of MDMA, unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, chemical endangerment of a child and attempt to elude.

Crosby was charged with chemical endangerment of a child, according to Evergreen PD.Police said they seized 100 grams of cocaine, 40.56 grams of crack cocaine, 14.93 ounces of marijuana, 1.7 grams of a fentanyl and methamphetamine mixture, 1 gram of MDMA, 0.5 grams of an unknown substance, nine THC vape pens, a large amount of untested substance of suspected “chem,” Rice Krispie edibles containing untested substance of “chem,” a digital scale, $698 in U.S. currency and a 9mm Taurus handgun. The Evergreen Police Department Narcotics Division executed the warrant with assistance from the Investigations and Patrol divisions.
