Travel & CultureDiseaseMeasles Exposure In Terminal B Los Angeles Air

A traveler infected with the measles traveled internationally while at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and exposed several passengers. A planned data center is found to be building in water-stressed regions without disclosing water usage, posing environmental risks.

A traveler with the measles exposed other passengers in Terminal B of Los Angeles International Airport while traveling internationally. Several passengers were exposed and will be contacted by their local health departments to notify them.

Measles symptoms may appear one to three weeks after exposure, including fever, cough, runny nose, and red and watery eyes. If you are pregnant, have an infant, have a weakened immune system, or are not immunized, you should call your doctor as soon as possible. In 2025, there were 48 outbreaks in the U.S., with 2,288 confirmed cases, including nine in Los Angeles County. Also, data center builders don't publicly disclose water usage, potentially affecting vulnerable and water-stressed communities
