MCE Medical Group OBGYN clinic opens in Enterprise

Doctors at MCE Medical Group OBGYN opened their doors to new patients today, marking a new chapter in healthcare. This comes months after the Enterprise Women’s Center, just across from the Medical Center, was forced to close its doors due to staffing shortages.

Lisa Fenner with the Medical Center said when the city lost a service like this, doctors and healthcare providers alike brainstormed to find a way to ensure women in Enterprise and surrounding areas would have access to around-the-clock obstetric care. “We’ve had several of our rural hospital neighbors close, and if they don’t close, they close service lines such as OBGYN. A lot of these physicians that step forward are small business owners. They have their own office where it’s just them and a few staff members. So for them to take time out of their schedule and step away from their own clinic to step into a hospital in another town is remarkable, and it just shows what the Wiregrass is made of,” said Lisa Fenner, director of marketing at MCE. Dr. Whitney Shoemaker and Keltin Jimmerson will begin seeing patients on April 8. Jessica Williams will begin accepting patients in May, and joining the team in June will be Dr. P.T. Nguyen. The clinic is located at 101 East Brunson Street, Suite 310, Enterprise, Alabama. The office is open Monday through Friday, offering comprehensive women’s care, including routine gynecological care, perinatal care, family planning, as well as hormone and menopause support.Download the WTVY News4 app to get alerts and stories the moment they are published.
