ENTERPRISE, Ala. - As searchers continue to look over the Coffee County landfill for the remains of Genesis Reid, members of the Enterprise community are looking for ways to assist.
In a recent Facebook post, small business owner Dale Gilley made a call to action to members of Enterprise Foodies, a group for restaurants and food businesses, and the community as a whole. The Enterprise Police Department, along with help from other agencies, has staffed over 70 people to search for Genesis.
Gilley said there is a need for restaurants and businesses to help any way they can to make sure those searchers are fed as the search for Genesis continues.
“Whenever we had the opportunity to help investigators out there at the landfill, it was a no-brainer. It’s our community, and so we’re going to be there to take care of our community, whatever that looks like,” Gilley said.
“I didn’t know the little girl, but it touched my heart tremendously. Our community, when it comes to the people being in need, they reach out. Just because it’s who we are as people ― we believe in supporting each other and loving on each other, in good times or bad. And like I said, this community is just amazing.
” Gilley says within a few hours of posting, people have already reached out to help. He is hopeful that the search will bring closure to this community. Restaurants and businesses looking to provide meals for the searchers or make monetary donations can contact Brandy at the Enterprise Police Department.
