A Pennsylvania couple traveled four hours to Ohio ’s first Buc-ee’s near Dayton, where a surprise proposal took place during the store’s grand opening Monday morning. Surprise proposal in front of Buc-ee the Beaver“I was pretty sure she was going to say yes, but there was always a little bit of doubt, you know?” Jason Schmit said.

The ring has special meaningCherlyn explained that she had first spotted the ring while browsing Etsy for costume pieces for her work at the Renaissance Fair.“I also work at the Renaissance Fair, and I was looking on Etsy for different uniform pieces and costume pieces. And this came up. I was like, 'Oh, isn’t that so cute?' And I showed him, and he remembered,' Cherlyn said.Yeah. I remember that you loved it,” Jason said.
Their relationship began at a haunted houseJason and Cherlyn’s love story began at a haunted house, where they worked together.After a post-shift hangout at Sheetz, they realized their connection. Now, Buc-ee’s holds a special place in their hearts.
Buc-ee’s theme may continue at the wedding“You kind of have this like convenience store love theme going on. Are we going to incorporate this into the wedding in any way?” Ava Rash asked the couple. “We think we’re going to give out beaver nuggets as favors and the little pockets. Yeah. And the little mini five-gallon bucket,” they said.
Wedding planned for next SeptemberThe couple shared that they plan to marry next September at the Renaissance Fair in Ohio, which is just an hour away from the Buc-ee’s where their engagement took place.
