In her first detailed interview with a Western news outlet, Kovalchuk recounts how she arrived in Dubai for a photoshoot and, after missing her flight home, accepted assistance from a man she had recently met. This led her to a hotel room with two men – a Russian and a Belarusian – and two women. The situation quickly escalated as the group consumed alcohol and narcotics, pressuring her to join in.
When she refused, she claims their behavior turned aggressive, with attempts to force her to drink and take substances. Kovalchuk alleges she was treated as an object, subjected to verbal abuse, and physically assaulted, including being slapped and having her clothes stolen. She attempted to escape twice, screaming for help from a balcony before being dragged back inside. Her final recollection before losing consciousness was a blow to the head.
She briefly remembers calling a taxi before blacking out and waking up in a hospital. Following an eight-day coma, Kovalchuk claims she awoke to find her hands tied to the bed and struggled to regain her memory and identity.
