LifePath Christian Ministries in York County hosted its annual Easter meal, serving hot meals to those experiencing homelessness.'We've been doing this for a long time. LifePath has been here for over 70 years.
I've been involved in the process for the past five years. So we've been doing this probably at least 25, 30 years just for the Easter meal,' said Kevin Scritchfield, food services director.'It just, it gives you a good feeling knowing that you're making really good food and you're giving it to people who may not get really good food every day,' said Ellen Murphy, food services coordinator.They decorated the room and served food to everyone who came, giving them seafood Newburg over rice, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, pineapple-glazed ham, fruit, salad and a dessert. 'We hear that like, this is the best meal I've had in a while, and it really makes you feel good, like you're helping out and doing something nice' Murphy said.'It's something personal. It's something that you walk away, just with a very good feeling. A lot of us just do this because it's not a one-day-a-month, one-day-a-year event. We do this on an ongoing basis, and it's a way for us to get back to our community,' Scritchfield said.To learn how to volunteer or donate, click here.
