MiraCosta students, alumni and employees will be able continue their education at National University at steep discounts.

In honor of National Transfer Student Week, two local institutions are teaming up to make higher education more accessible and affordable. On Monday, MiraCosta College and National University announced an expanded partnership that will allow MiraCosta students, alumni and employees to continue their education at National University at a steep discount.

“We serve very similar students,” said National University’s executive vice president of workforce and community education, Chris Graham. “We serve students who are juggling life responsibilities. They’ve, many times, taken a non-traditional path to get a college education, and we’re both set up – both MiraCosta College and National University are both set up – to move them along their way and help them advance their careers and help them advance in their lives.” Graham said National University has already graduated more than 4,000 MiraCosta students over the years.46% reduction for students who complete an associate degree for transfer and enroll at National University within 36 months of completion 25% tuition discount for MiraCosta students who have completed a bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue a master’s degree15% tuition discount for MiraCosta employees pursuing doctoral programs“We understand that to live and thrive in San Diego County, many times you need to escalate up the career ladder and to complete a higher ed degree like a bachelor’s or a master’s or even a doctorate degree,” Cooke said. “And so, we want to introduce as many opportunities for students to come in and out of the educational pathway as they need.”
