EAST CLEVELAND , Ohio - The East Cleveland service yard on Eddy Road is piled with debris along the fence, and neighbors across the street say it’s a nuisance. An East Cleveland woman says she can see a city-owned trash pile from her front window and believes it’s a health hazard.
Berry has lived across the street on Eddy Road for a decade. Her view out the front window includes rusted pipes, mattresses and the occasional takeout Styrofoam box.“I think it’s a health hazard and a problem,” she said. The site has been a trouble spot before. In 2015, it was raided for illegal dumping when a private company ran the site. Simon Miedza runs Pharo Plaste, a business across the street. He says in the four years he’s been at the location, the yard has always looked like a mess. “I see like big four-wheeler caterpillars running in and out of the gate. Then the occasional dump truck rolling in and out,” Miedza said. “They move some stuff around from time to time. As far as I can tell not much comes out.”Both neighbors agree they want to see the area cleaned up.Tractor runs over 1-year-old Wayne County boyOhio State Highway Patrol investigating Summit County plane crash
