CLEVELAND , Ohio - The Cleveland Fire Department was on the scene of a house fire with children trapped inside on the city’s east side early Tuesday morning.
Cleveland Fire Department Lt. Mike Norman told 19 News that the fire broke out at around 6:37 a.m., and firefighters quickly arrived on scene. When firefighters arrived, they found the mother, who made the 911 call, and two young children under the age of three outside the home.
Norman said that firefighters entered the home, kicked down the door of the room with the fire and found four children sleeping.
EMS said that paramedics took four critical pediatric patients, two serious pediatric patients and one stable adult to Metro.They were seriously injured with burns to their faces and hands, but stable, Norman told 19 News.
The damage is estimated at $40,000.
